More Adventures

I am so proud of Landon and all the men and women who serve our great country. They make so many sacrifices and one of the toughest is being away from their families during deployments. I don't think any of them would say deployments are fun and they sure aren't fun for those of us back home. But one thing that was very different about this deployment compared to his last was that he was on a ship and traveled to a lot of different places. Now, I know that being stuck on a ship day in and day out had to have been really tough, so it was great when they got to get off the ship and experience a little bit of the world! Here are a few more pictures from some of the things he did while off the ship.

These next three pictures were taken while they were in Jordan doing some training. While there Landon was able to do a hike down in a canyon near where they were staying, they planned to try to go all the way down to the bottom but found out that after about a mile it dropped straight to the bottom, so they had to turn back.

This is a picture of all the Lieutenants that were with Landon on this hike.

These next pictures are of a fishing trip that Landon went on while they were in Malaysia. He caught three fish, two small ones and one large one (last picture), the last one is a "rockfish", he said it was a fighter ;) haha. This island of the Philippines is called Cebu and he said that it was pretty poor, but everyone was really friendly and many of them spoke English. They had a lot of good food, and they ate at a Mexican food restaurant that he claimed was better than any Mexican restaurant that he's experienced in California! And he said they had really good bar-b-que.

Landon has had some great experiences during this deployment, but I know he is ready for it to be over, and so am I! I can happily say that they are making their way home and my next update will be about his homecoming!! It is almost over!
