I know I haven't blogged in a while, there really hasn't been much going on, but I finally have something worth talking about. We have reached a bitter-sweet milestone in this deployment. If you've ever counted down for something that you've been looking forward to, when you reach the half way point it's exciting, but at the same time daunting. You realize you have just as much time left to go as you have just gone through.
This is still exciting and I am glad we are this far along. These last few months haven't been so bad on my end, I've been very busy working. Landon started out the deployment getting to do a lot of neat things, it's dwindled down a bit for him, and I can tell he is ready to come home, which of course I'm ready for too!
August was an exciting month for three of my friends in California, because their husbands came home from a deployment. One was getting to meet his son for the first time, which I know was a very emotional event for everyone! I also have friends whose husbands are coming home in September, October, and November, then hopefully Landon will be coming home in December sometime. So these next few months will be very exciting for a lot of people very close to my heart!
I want to say thank you to everyone for all the prayers and thoughts which I know we are getting because this deployment so far has been pretty smooth and gone by sort of fast. It's never easy being away from Landon, but being around my friends and family and having the support that you all have given us has really made it a lot easier. We are very blessed.
So, here's to hoping that the next half goes by just as fast or faster!
